Biography

Attorney Tejal V. Patel is a mediator, family lawyer and estate planning attorney serving Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Marlton, New Jersey, South Jersey, Philadelphia Region, and its surrounding areas. After practicing divorce litigation, Ms. Patel is one of the few attorneys that made the paradigm shift to non-adversarial divorce processes early in her legal career. Ms. Patel states "Divorce is an emotional process and I have seen the emotional and financial devastating effects a highly contested drawn out court battle does to a family, and especially children." Traditional litigation destroys families, I am intent on providing a better alternative to help families through divorce. I knew there had to be a better, more dignified approach to resolving family law matters than traditional cutthroat litigation.

After starting her own practice, Ms. Patel vowed never to take another litigated divorce case. The Law Offices of Tejal V. Patel, LLC dedicates its practice on only providing peaceful divorce resolutions. This allows clients to settle their divorce out of court. Ms. Patel strongly believes that alternative methods to divorce have proven to be far superior to litigated divorce. They provide a cost-effective, compassionate, and constructive approach that the courts cannot offer.

Ms. Patel is passionate about helping separating and divorcing clients avoid the trauma of prolonged arguments. She helps couples reach a mutually beneficial solution that work for them and their families. In general, Ms. Patel is a positive and inspirational person. She is always looking for ways to uplift the people she meets so they can focus on the positive. That is what she brings to her clients. While she helps her client reach a settlement, she fosters positive communication skills they can use at the end of the divorce and in the future. She finds great satisfaction in helping divorcing couples transfer one of the most emotional and difficult periods in their life, into a positive forward looking process.

Attorney Patel got her divorce mediation training from the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM) and her collaborative law training from the New York Association of Collaborative Professionals and Collaborative Law Professionals in New Jersey and through Linda Piff at Practical Collaborative Solutions in New Jersey. Ms. Patel is an active member of the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group and works closely with other collaboratively trained attorneys, financial professionals and mental health professionals to educate the public on superior alternatives to divorce.
